The Atlanta chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading professional membership organization for project managers, is offering five $2,000 scholarship awards to undergraduate and graduate engineering, computing, and business students at Georgia Tech.
These scholarships will be awarded to students interested in pursuing project management studies. "In both academia and industry, we are finding some form of project management in every classroom and every career path. Whether it is project-based learning, product or program management, our research shows this is a horizontal skill set that enables value delivery in a systematic fashion," said Georgia Tech alumnus and Academic Program Director of Project Management Chris Carter.
As interest in project management continues to grow, the College of Lifetime Learning is offering new project management courses designed to provide learners with workplace-ready knowledge and skills. These courses support the College’s mission to make education accessible, practical, and relevant at every stage of life.
Recipients of the PMI Atlanta scholarship will have the opportunity to advance their studies in the field and be recognized for their commitment to leadership and to creating solutions for a better future. "With the strong support from PMI Atlanta, we are thrilled to offer this scholarship to our very own Yellow Jackets who are pursuing project management," Carter said.
Applicants must submit an original essay of 1,500 – 2,500 words that responds to the question: “How can project management best deliver value systematically?” Students must complete the application by March 30, 2026. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time and should be pursuing a minor or certificate in project management or agile program management.
